Our Mission

The mission of the Williston Historical Society is to encourage appreciation and promote knowledge of the historical and cultural heritage of Williston, Vermont. The Society and its collection are open to all. We endeavor to maintain the collection using state-of-the-art archival standards and excellent record keeping.

Vision Statement

The Vision of the Williston Historical Society is to maintain an historical archive that is effectively preserved for use by the public. We strive to inform all and to present our collection and historical facts relating to our items so that a greater understanding of our heritage can take place. We encourage membership in the Society. WHS provides a research collection of printed and manuscript material, photographs and artifacts for use by all who are interested in the history of Williston and its people.

The Vermont Room, in the Dorothy Alling Memorial Library where the collection is housed, will be maintained as a showcase for our historical artifacts and regarded as an historical destination for Williston. The WHS newsletter will continue to inform members about Society events and serve as a voice for historical education for the community.
