Member Meeting:Our member meeting on Monday, November 27th was a success with 26 members present. The program began with John Joachim, Jim McCullough, Pierrette Roy and Joanne Riley reading parts from the play, Family Album. The play was written by 8th graders from the Lake Iroquois One-room Schoolhouse in 1939 for the town's one-room schools 8th graders commencement program. It was found in the attic of Ginger Isham's husband's farmhouse next to where the Lake Iroquois School was located. Dr. Jack Price read a poem written by David Isham Talcott , 80 years old, in 1930 about his church. The poem can be found on page 177 in the book Thomas Chittenden's Town by Willard Randall and Nancy Nahra. Next, Mary Tuthill, read excerpts from Laura Brownell's diary . The Brownell history can be found in our Vermont Room . Our program ended with Vermont humor done by the Williston's own, Bill Skiff. We laughed much at Bill's stories; some of which included his growing up in Vermont. Our evening ended with pie and ice cream. |
